Rubia F. Gouveia

Organizing Committee Member (SICN - 2019)

Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory, Brazil
Biography
Rubia F. Gouveia holds a Chemistry BSc (2003) from the State University of Maringa and she obtained MSc (2005) and Ph.D. degrees (2010) from the University of Campinas. Her thesis received the “Casimiro Montenegro Award”, where she discovered that water vapor adsorption at the solid-gas interface modifies the solid surface potential due to water ion partition concurrent with adsorption. She was a postdoc at King’s College London and later joined the Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano) at Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) in Campinas.
Research Interest
Her current research interests involve the preparation, characterization, and application of polymeric nanocomposites based on cellulose nanoparticles. She is also responsible for X-ray microtomography, which is an open facility from LNNano/CNPEM.
