M. Shishesaz was graduated from University of Lowell in 1979 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, during which he remained on the dean’s least as an outstanding student. He got his Master of Science degree in the same field in 1981. Four years later, he managed to graduate as a Ph.D. student from Northeastern University, specializing in stress analysis of composite materials. He worked for five years as a lecturer at the same place followed by a guest professor at K. N. Tossi of Technology and University of Science and Technology up to 1994 (in the Islamic Republic of Iran). He joined the Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in the same year as an assistant professor and is currently a tenure track professor at this university. He is the author of more than 150 research journal and conference papers and two Iranian patents. He has served as a consultant for many industries, working with Sugar and Cane Company, Steel Company, domestic Gas Company, and a few power plant industries, as well as a chief researcher and the coordinator of nine industrial projects. His job experience includes the assistant dean of a mechanical engineering department, head of solid mechanics division, deputy of research (college of engineering), former editor of Pajoohesh research magazine, member of Editorial Board, Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, and an active reviewer of scientific journals. He has taught undergraduate, and graduate courses in more than five universities and has been the main advisor of more than 60 graduate and postgraduate students. His field of interest is stress analysis of mechanical elements, finite element, stress analysis and behavior of nanostructures. He is currently working on the structural behavior of nanodisks and nanoplates.
