Zhongxiao Peng
Organizing Committee Member (SICN - 2019)
The University of New South Wales, Australia
Zhongxiao Peng has 20 years research experience in the fields of wear analysis and machine condition monitoring and 10 years experience in using nanotechnology to improve wear resistance in engineering and bio-engineering areas. Dr. Peng was awarded a PhD degree from the University of Western Australia, Australia, in 2000. She worked at James Cook University as a lecturer, senior lecturer and associate professor in 1999-2011 and joined the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW Sydney in August 2011. She has experience in developing advanced materials reinforced with nanoparticles for bio-engineering applications (eg, artificial joint materials). Recently, she is interested in the development of acoustic absorbing materials with nanofillers for marine applications.
3D image acquisition, processing and quantitative analysis of wear in mechanical and bio-engineering systems; development and application of artificial intelligence techniques for prediction of the performance and remaining useful life of mechanical systems; integration of multiple techniques for health monitoring.
